Self-host like a pro with CasaOS on Raspberry Pi!
Argon One Up. #RaspberryPi CM5 powered laptop. This is going to be SO expensive!
The response I got from @beasts about my recent post reminded me of their no-support staff policy.
I had a couple of questions about setting up the Pi 4 I have hosted with them and they responded very quickly and knowlegably (sp?)
Control your Pi with taps by using an on-screen keyboard.
So, I'm currently installing WSL in an attempt to get Windows 11 to view various ext4 filesystems, as I do a lot of stuff with Rasperry Pi machines. This feels...kinda wrong. I hope it works though. I know just enough to be dangerous, but not enough to be a true expert.
An update to the Raspberry Pi Pico SDK allows the RP2040 microprocessor to run at speeds up to 200 MHz. Previously they were limited to 133 MHz. The newer RP2350 should still offer better performance, but this is still a nice software-based spec bump. https://buff.ly/3F10seA #RP2040 #RaspberryPi
I ordered some LED's, sockets, 2n2222 transistors and some 12V relays today.
What do you all think of this plan:
USB->UART (buy it)
UART->LOGIC output (build it: see falstad/video)
LOGIC->RELAY (buy it)
POWER- through relay (spare 12v from shucked HDD's)
Automotive/pinball LED T10 bulbs in sockets mounted to PCB or 3D printed structure. (buy it)

My python code sends data out of the serial port if Teams is On a call and sends nothing otherwise.
The circuit turns the LED red when it sees pulses and leaves it red for a second or so. As long as it gets serial data once a second or so the LED stays on. If anything goes wrong it goes off
Would you buy a serial to on/off GPIO output module like this?
CrowView Note is a sleek laptop shell for your Raspberry Pi.
Anyone have experience running Alpine and/or PostmarketOS Linux on Raspberry Pi 3,4,5 type devices?
Specifically, familiarity with the video and GPU performance?
A brief look seems to indicate there is no hardware acceleration but maybe I haven't looked in the correct places yet.
My use case is drawing gauges for automotive telemetry and moving map AR type stuff so nothing crazy but smooth sweeping needles and scrolling maps would be nice.
SSH into your Raspberry Pi from anywhere with Tailscale.
#WhatsMissing is an #Android-#ROM that is the equivalent of @tails_live / @tails / #Tails, which includes @torproject / #Tor and @guardianproject / #Orbot support form the get-go and forces everything through Tor if not only allows to connect to #OnionSedvices using #orWall...
Ideally make it like an #image file to put on a #RaspberryPi #CM5 / #CM4 / #Pi400 / #Pi500 / #Pi4 / #Pi5 to work with a bunch of #WWAN modules for #data, #SMS & #calling (needed with some SIMs to get shit done)...
Get more speed and features with the ArmSoM CM5 over the Raspberry Pi CM4.
Haha! Something I did not realize while I was writing the blog post above: my biggest bottleneck while running the Forgejo runners on the Rasperry Pi is the storage.
It's not baaaad, but now that I know what's wrong, I can figure out if there is a way to optimize.
New blog post: Building a Stealth Macintosh Portable.
I've been working on this for months but I'm calling it complete for now. Hope you enjoy the read!
New blog post! Come figure out how I have configured my Forgejo runners to build my container images on my Raspberry Pi, totally self-hosted and private. I went crazy and run Docker in Docker in Docker in ... (you got the idea). There is also a bonus LXC container with Proxmox and a sprinkle of Ansible. This was a fun experiment, and I hope you enjoy it!
